The 21 km Half Marathon will take place on Sunday 12 October across a breath-taking course that will take the participants through the enchanting landscapes of Locarno and along the shores of Ascona’s picturesque lake.
The 21 km Half Marathon is open to everyone, regardless of nationality or membership of an athletics club.

On 12 October, the Swiss Half Marathon Championship 2025 will take place at the Ascona-Locarno Run.

The 21 km Half Marathon is an event sponsored by Swiss Athletics and hosted the Swiss Half Marathon Championship also in the 2023.

The title of Ticino Absolute Champion will also be awarded.

The course is approved by Swiss Athletics and has international homologation.

In case you want to run for the title of Absolute Ticinese Champion, please refer to the regulations page where you will find the FTAL regulations and the Self-certification to be filled in (to be sent to FTAL).

In order to take part in the Ticinese Championships, it is compulsory to register only with the name of the FTAL membership company and to run with the official t-shirt.

The prize-giving ceremony will take place from 12:45 in Piazza Grande.

The first three participants to cross the finish line in each category will receive a prize, as per the categories indicated below.

Moreover, the fastest three runners overall male and female in the 21km Half Marathon will receive a prize.

Any unclaimed prizes will remain the property of the organiser.

The “Ascona-Locarno Run 2025” event is organised under the patronage and directives of the Swiss Athletics Federation (Swiss Athletics).

The course has been approved by Swiss Athletics. For further information, please consult page Rules and Regulations.

The 21 km Half Marathon is sponsored by the FTAL, which is responsible for awarding the title of “Overall Ticino Champion”.

Medical certificates or Federation memberships are not required in order to take part in the “Ascona-Locarno Run 2025” races; however, by registering to take part, each participant declares to be in “good physical health, to be eligible to take part in a running race, and to have medical confirmation of this”.

In any case, the organisers of the “Ascona-Locarno Run” accept no liability.
