The Ascona-Locarno Run is a unique opportunity to visit the region of Lake Maggiore in its lively autumn setting.
Attractive locations such as Piazza Grande in Locarno – the starting and finishing point of the races – as well as the lakeside promenade of Ascona will be an integral part of the route, which can be chosen according to your sporting and competitive needs: 5 km Sunset Run, 10 km Walking & Nordic Walking, 10 km Run, 21 km Half Marathon. Children can compete with their peers at the popular Kids Run.
The year 2021 was an important year with a number of innovations in terms of competitions but also actions to make the event more and more eco-sustainable:
- all participants in the races will be able to arrive in Locarno from all over Switzerland free of charge by all public transport (Swiss Runners Ticket, more information on the “Free Transport” page).
Arrive by train without stress and leave relaxed!
Exceptionally for this event, the duration of the free ticket is up to 10 days!
- The 10 km Walking & Nordic Walking has been introduced on Sunday and it has been renamed the City Run on Saturday in 5 km Sunset Run, a race where you can run according to your training level.
